Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour Ogden, UT

February 13th-15th, 2026

In 1986, Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival began an outreach program to bring the festival to other communities. Banff’s Festival organizers wanted to share the efforts and talents of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers with a larger audience. Like the first festival in Banff, the tour began small: three cities across Canada. The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings mountain films to thousands of people who cannot make the annual trek to the Canadian Rockies. We hope you will join us when the tour visits Ogden, Utah.

Banff Film Festival Info

Founded in 1933, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is a learning organization built upon an extraordinary legacy of excellence in artistic and creative development. What started as a single course in drama has grown to become the global organization leading in arts, culture, and creativity across dozens of disciplines. From our home in the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity aims to inspire everyone who attends our campus – artists, leaders, and thinkers – to unleash their creative potential.

  • In 1986, Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival began an outreach program to bring the festival to other communities. Banff’s Festival organizers wanted to share the efforts and talents of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers with a larger audience. Like the first festival in Banff, the tour began small: three cities across Canada. The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings mountain films to thousands of people who cannot make the annual trek to the Canadian Rockies. We hope you will join us when the tour visits your town or city!

  • Banff Centre is the world's largest arts and creativity incubator. Our mission is Inspiring Creativity. Each year we host thousands of artists, explorers, mathematicians, and business leaders on our campus. These leaders across disciplines develop new approaches to solving some of the world's most complex challenges and new works that exemplify the best of what human beings can do. We also host thousands of conference guests on campus each year.

  • Every year, the Banff World Tour team licenses about 30 films that feature a range of styles and themes, including climbing, skiing, kayaking, biking, adventure, culture and the environment. When making this selection many factors are considered: comments made by our pre-screening committee, audience reaction to the films shown in Banff, and feedback we've received from the tour audience.

Most screenings include about 6 to 8 films. In locations with multiple screenings, the local host organization may choose to show the same program each night or feature different selections. Check with them for details.
